CAKEQUEMBOUCHE (pronounced “Cake-Com-Boosh”) was started by 2 fun-loving and passionate pastry bakers who decided to take a leap of faith in pursuing our dreams of opening a patisserie. The journey was fraught with many obstacles, including the disapproval of many close ones, knowing how tough it would be for us. However, we pressed on with the belief that our hard work, creativity and determination would eventually win over their support and encouragement. After months of searching, dicussions and money spent on renovations and equipment, we managed to secure a NEA approved premises which kicked-off our journey for Cakequembouche.

Cakequembouche believes in:

3. Making each and every cake with passion and sincerity

Chef Chua Charlene:

  • 1st Class Honors in Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) from Nanyang Technological University, Nanyang Business School, Class of 2007.
  • Achieved the “Diploma in Pastry & Bakery Arts” from At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy in March 2012.
  • Awarded “Best In Service & Participation” for 2012, for utmost dedication and service participation towards the school and during apprenticeship.
  • 1 of the 6 nominated “Outstanding Apprentice of the Year 2012″ out of 192 students.
  • She has also completed the PME Professional Diploma: Sugarpaste Module.

​Chef Wu Qiuying:

  • Achieved the “Diploma in Pastry & Bakery Arts” from At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy in March 2012.
  • Apart from the At-Sunrice Diploma, she had recently also attained her PME Professional Diploma: Royal Icing & Piping Module.
  • She has also completed the PME Professional Diploma: Sugarpaste Module.
  • Chef’s Qiuying’s creativity and excellence in her work have also received much commendation from her trainers during the course of her Diplomas.
